Caprine Engineering, LLC, a Birmingham-based planning, civil engineering, and consulting firm is seeking an entry-level civil engineer for immediate hire. We are looking for flexible and motivated candidates with a genuine drive to be successful engineering consultants – always providing unique perspectives and goal-oriented service.
You’ll work as part of a team of experienced professionals who value creativity, promote inclusion, are enthusiastic about the civil engineering field, and allow you to take ownership of your work. You will be managing projects quickly upon hire. We currently have active projects in many states across the Southeast including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and North Carolina.
Responsibilities may include
- Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design
- Site Inspection, Investigation, and monitoring
- Plan production, design calculations, and report preparation
- Review and assist with reports, specifications, and studies
- Agency coordination and plan approval and permit facilitation
We are looking for candidates with the following characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering
- 0-5+ years of detailed general civil engineering design experience, which includes experience in one or more of the following project types: site development, roadways, mass and detailed grading, drainage plans and studies, and/or utilities
- Taken and/or passed the FE exam
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D)
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology
- Strong technical, communication, and design skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work with multi-disciplinary teams
