American Constitution Society

Profile
The American Constitution Society is a national organization dedicated to promoting progressive constitutional interpretation and fostering a vibrant community engaged in critical legal issues. We believe in advancing equality, upholding the rule of law, and strengthening democratic legitimacy. At Dartmouth, we aim to connect students to these discussions and create opportunities for meaningful involvement through speaker events, advocacy, and dialogue.
Founded in the Spring of 2025, the Dartmouth chapter of the American Constitution Society was created as a space for progressive constitutional legal discourse on campus. Established during a time when the Supreme Court has repeatedly undermined long-standing constitutional protections, this chapter seeks to foster dialogue and advocacy grounded in equity, justice, and the rule of law. Partnering with professors and legal scholars at the top of their fields, Dartmouth ACS seeks to provide its members with the opportunity to engage with pressing constitutional issues and contribute to a community committed to advancing progressive legal thought.

Are you interested in joining the American Constitution Society? It’s easy! You can begin by attending our weekly meetings on Tuesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. We announce these on our Instagram page (@dartmouthacs) and our GroupMe for all current (and potentially future) club members. Attending these weekly meetings is the first step to getting involved and staying connected with our leadership team. If you are interested in taking on a leadership role, elections will be held every spring term.
